Andy Ostroy: One Spin You Won't Hear From Republicans About Tuesday's Election

Democrats lost two key elections Tuesday, the gubernatorial races in New Jersey, where Republican Chris Christie defeated incumbent Jon Corzine, and in Virginia, where Bob McDonnell defeated Creigh Deeds in a special election to fill the vacating Tim Kaine's seat.

As expected, the Republican spin-machine is in euphoric overdrive, maniacally labeling these victories a broad repudiation of… » Full Story on Huffington Post

The Democrats are trying to spin yesterday's elections as a 2-1 split by chortling about their win in NY-23. The truth is, Republicans beat the tar out of them by winning two huge races decided by millions of voters -- while the Dems merely won one small local campaign that was mismanaged by the GOP and dominated by party operatives.

The Virginia race was a blow-out. NJ was particularly amazing considering that Christie was outspent at least 2-1 in a traditionally blue state.

Yesterday was a clear indictment of Obama's policies. Americans do NOT want the massive overspending and high taxation required by socialism. We want jobs ... and we want our Constitutionally protected freedom.

Furthermore, in regard to the NY-23 race, Democrats are trying to spin the tall tale that Doug Hoffman, the conservative candidate, represents an extreme wing of the GOP.

LOL!!!

Like Sarah Palin, Hoffman supports low taxes, smaller government, and fiscal responsibility. He opposes huge spending bills and believes power belongs in the hands of the people, rather than government bureaucrats. Those beliefs were shared by our founding fathers.

Since when did it become extremist to believe in upholding our Constitution?

Talk about spin!

TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH. YOU AL FRANKEN TOOL!

The ONLY reason he won was, the Republican vote was split between two Republican candidates. The total of the vote would have been 53% in favor of republicans. That dork Bill Owens got lucky and pull a Bill Clinton win.

The article fails to mention that the republican dropped out of the race, and the losing person was a third party candidate. Wow. Real journalism.

23rd Congressional District of New York in which the Republican candidate, a moderate, was purged from the Republican Party by the most extreme elements of the conservative right wing including Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. This race turned out to be the worst of all possible worlds for Republicans as not only did the Democrat, Bill Owens, win a seat that Democrats have not held in more than 100 years, but what occurred in New York has exposed a war within the Republican Party that will not soon end

NY 23rd something is fishy here.
The election results since 1996 shows an extraordinary consistent turnout of about 2:1 republican to democratic with a total that is constantly between 175,000 and 200,000 votes cast until this special election. Even when there is no democratic candidate more than 100,000 votes are cast. What I noticed this time is that 49% the Republicans showed up and voted (64,049 R+C) and fully 90% of the Democratic voters showed up and voted. This ratio is inconstant and simply beyond belief.

1996 R 124,662
D 50,436
1998 R 111,242
D 0
2000 R 124,132
D 38,049
2002 R 124,662
D 0
2004 R 160,079
D 66,448

2006 R 106,781
D 68,318
2008 R 129,991
D 69,112
2009 R 6,976
C 57,073
D 61,666

I know this is entirely unrelated to the article, but I figured a lot of anti-AP people would come here. Here's a screenshot of my monitor after I clicked on something on My Yahoo page. I thought you guys would like it:

I know this is unrelated to the story completely, but I also know a lot of right wing people who don't like AP would come here. Here's a close up of a screen shot on my monitor that i think you'd all find rather enjoyable:

Huff Post - the Democrat Propaganda Machine!
Here's what happened:
Deeds never offered any solutions to our problems, never proposed any plan(s) all he did - with typical Democrat arrogance - was put out negative ads against The Republican, McDonnell! Then when asked why he thought he was behind his opponent in the polls he said it was because of McDonnell's negative ads! What a f'ing hypocrite!
Deeds also got caught bragging about how he held the record in VA for pork spending!
His buddy Moran - moron - will be next. That idiot referred to all the opposition to Deeds as being similar to the "Taliban"! Typical Democrat threats and intimidation - so, after the next election this Commie will be gone, too!
