What Did the Election Mean?

Lessons learned for Democrats and Republicans. » Full Story on New York Times

According to Pisslosi you can loose all of your important elections and yet still claim victory. I don't know what planet she's from but she needs to be beamed back up.

1/3 of Americans have either used Cannabis or still use it daily, they voted for Obama but he laughed at them, now they are just not voting again because they are mad at all elected officals for endorsing the pollution which is caused by using resources which pollute the earth.

He who promises to free the weed will get elected every time.

A good indicator of stupidity is when someone repeatedly does the same thing over and over and expects to get different results. Voting incumbents out of office has been going on for over 200 years.

IT SHOWED US THAT NO MATTER WHO YOU HAVE BEHIND YOU OR ENDORSING YOU MEANS NOTHING.CORZINE DIDNT GO UP IN THE POLLS UNTILL HE CHANGED SOME OF HIS CAMPAIGN,THE PRESIDENT BUMPED HIM UP A BIT BUT IN THE END I THINK IT WAS TOO LATE AND PLUS HE WAS NOT WELL LIKED,IN THE 23 RD DISTRICT IN NEW YORK YOU SAW PALIN,PAWLENTY AND THOMPSON BACK SOME WHAT OF A ZOMBIE TYPE NERD,AND A DEMOCRAT SAYING HE WOULD SUPPORT THE HEALTHCARE PLAN FROM WASHINGTON,THREE THINGS HERE,FIRST THAT SEAT WAS HELD BY A REPUBLICAIN,BUT A DEM TOOK IT FROM HIM ON HEALTHCARE REFORM HE WOULD TAKE. AND THE PALIN,PAWLENTY,THOMPSON BULLING THE PEOPLE IN THE RACE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT AND THE PEOPLE SPOKE,THATS ONE THING THE MEDIA REFUSES TO MENTION IS THAT THE PEOPLE OF THAT TOWN SPOKE AND THEY VOTED FOR A CHANGE ALSO,SO BOTH PARTIES ARE LOOSERS&WINNERS.IT HAS NO REFLECTION ON OBAMA ITS JUST MEDIA SPIN THATS ALL!

its so very interesting that the whitehouse said the only meaningful election was the one in which the democrat won.

they are losing their minds!

that's like phillies losing the world series and saying the only important games were game one and 5.

What it means is people are sick and tired of being taxed and regulated to death. Between now and next November there has to be an all out offensive against those on both sides of the aisle who promote gov't healthcare, cap and trade, amnesty for illegals, etc. I am sick and tired of hearing the worn out term "bipartisanship". This is war folks! It's time to reduce government control over our lives. The unfortunate thing is that the majority of people in this country can tell you more about Dancing with the Stars or American Idol than what is going on in the world.

Yeah that's right, lets analize the heck out of this so the lib/dems can deny, deny, deny the truth that's punching them in the face.

I will tell you what it meant - the under 30-crowd didn't vote (not surpirsing since they probably thought the gov race was about a guy running to administer a county or city in the state) and common sense won out.

One way to solve the problem of under-30 dummies at the polls when they do show up would be to make them name their two U.S. Senators before they are allowed to vote.

Too loose the VA and NJ governor elections are bad for Democrats. However, the Democratic candidates in both states were weak performers and as such constantly behind in the polls and deserved to loose or be voted out. Try again in four years.

The reason why New York's 23rd district special election was the big deal is the deep divide within the GOP, which was openly on display in that race. The fundamentalists pushed their candidate against all common sense and subsequently the GOP lost the seat. Maybe the Republicans can win the seat back next year but that requires one of two things to happen. Either the GOP as a whole must shift further to the right or the moderates gain control again and move the party back closer to the center and mainstream USA.

Continued:
And that goes for all midterm Confessional and Senatorial races. A shift further to the political right is political suicide. But a shift back towards the center might leave a substantial group of GOP supporters behind and they might split off the Republican Party and start their own outfit.

Either way, the GOP has one year to figure it out and neither option is very appealing. Sorry but you had it coming your way since this is the logical continuation of the path the GOP entered upon in 1994.

Poor Republican babies. In 2008, we had a little thing called an election. You guys lost. Deal with it, and try to do better next time around. That's how it works in this county, or don't you believe in democracy? Try to find a more constructive way to spend your time until November 2010 seeing who can throw the tantrum.
