Op-Ed Columnist: Stress Beyond Belief

Sending service members on numerous combat tours exacts a horrendous price on their mental health and the readiness of our armed forces. » Full Story on New York Times

That's why it takes a special kind of person to serve in the armed forces of the United States. A man or woman who can't take the pressure should get out of the service. How can someone justify military service to their country yet ignore orders, disregard their duties as a military person and perpetually criticize the US? Of course, Obama does these things and more, but the average serviceman still owes it to himself and the country to show Obama how true patriots are supposed to act.

I was on active-duty during the Carter and Clinton years as POTUS. Retired after 20 years. Each POTUS was intensely disliked by the military active duty, retirees and they're families during those times but we were always respectful of them.

In this day, and age, I would forecast that the chance of Obama being held in high esteem by the aforementioned is slim to none. All of his life, Obama has spit on the military establishment and what they stand for and now as CIC he believes he is well-liked and loved? hussein has ZERO BUSINESS going to Ft Hood for a memorial service for those killed.

These are terribly depressing days for all of us, particularly the active-duty military and they're families. Members being killed in they're own country by a muslim infiltrator on a US military installation. It doesn't get much worse than that.
