I love watching Jeeter and the talent of the Yankees. But Steinbrenner has ruined baseball by buying championships. Implement team salary caps like the other sports have. This salary tax is a joke to an organization that makes so much money. Steriods and greed have ruined American's past time.

Great reason for a salary cap. Best team money can buy.

Yessir, lets all be exstatic about a stupid Kid's game. Let's all idolize a bunch of overgrown illiterates while real men are being sacrificed in Afthanistan and Iraq. Let's all jump up and down for these clowns, while the Head Clown in the White House is robbing America of it's heritage, and trying to make it more Communistic every day. America sure has it's priorities straight. Just as when it wastes Billions on Space shots while we're going broke right here on Earth. Why have Elections ? We should just go to the nearest Asylum and pick our the worst case. They'll do no worse than what we have now, and the last 16 before him.

Who gives a rats rear end? They should make Pedro Martinez the MVP for he single handed gave them the title. Maybe he wants to pitch for them next year. Who knows. Also with all tha money in their pay roll it's embarrassing that they lost 2 games. They should call themselves lucky for they never had to play the Red Sox in the Play Offs.

Congratulations to the GREATEST SPORTS FRANCHISE in AMERICAN HISTORY.

It is a shame that EVERY owner of any sports team, does not put the profits of that team, back into, at least attempting to put a championship product on the field every year for their fans.

George Steinbrenner, love him or hate him. does what every fan of any team, has got to wish that thier organization did as well. Has it always worked out? Absolutely NOT. but at least the money is placed back into the team instead of the owners pockets.

Again, Congratulations to the Yankees, and their fans on number 27, hopefully there will be many more to follow.

The great American game. Great that is except for the mind numbing tedium of the whole thing. Baseball has some of the fattest arsed and overpaid athlete's? in the world. Although you'd be hard pressed to call some of these players even passably fit what with their fat arses. I know enough with the arses already, but come on get into shape people or perhaps it's just the clingy outfits. O.k. back to the game itself.

As with many American Sports there is a great deal of standing around, contemplating of navels, mucho getting ready, intense debating of what to do next, thinking about what to do next, talking about what to do next, pointing at things, spitting, stomping of ground, chewing of cheeks, signaling to catchers, placing of feet, readying of hands and ball and many other things ending in .ing! If you can stay awake long enough for the opening pitch then perhaps you have the mind-set to enjoy the sport of Baseball, I myself just don't have the patience and unless I have money riding on the game or it's a World Series (the world being made up of um........well, just America pretty much, now that's a small world isn't it)...then I don't think I'm going to make it past the 1st 10 minutes.

To all the haters:

NY Yankees:
27 wins out of 105 world series = 25.7%
40 appearances in world series out of 105 = 38%
27 wins out of 40 appearances = 67.5% success rate

Your team:???

They deserve every bit of what they did! They are a great team and Steinbrenner paid alot of money for that stadium and did not use the tax payers money to do so. He deserves it and it shows that he is a good business. They are the champs and no one can take that away. Matsui got his ring that he so well deserved. New York Yankees are the best! Period. New home, new champions!

No matter what anyone says, it is all equal, same rules and same players throughout. They are the champions and no one will change that! Everyone should appreciate a champion team no matter who they are. Well deserved!
