October sales offer relief to merchants (AP)

AP - Consumers, looking to outfit themselves for cooler weather and enticed by an improving economy, spent a little more in October, handing the retail industry its second consecutive monthly sales gain after more than a year of declines. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

Is it really? I never heard of that. Are you looking for wealthy men? I know a hot and interesting place named Billionairepal.com where I have met my boyfriend. You may take a look.

Good little consumer units. Now go spend, spend, spend. Giant transnational corporations are depending on you for their huge profits. They provide s*** y jobs and we hand them over our money. Perfect.

I doubt that anyone is willing to pay full price for anything...unless the banks want to give us back the money that we gave them as tax payers.

Now please, i hope Sears holdings reports good news, i've spend way too much money on them this past month.. I don't want them to go out of business that's why i'm supporting them, and not Walmart. to tell you the truth sometimes Sears makes it really hard. same goes for Kmart but they really are trying to get shoppers to shop with them. for the holidays. will online layaway work who knows. that's up to the american peoples to decide?

I see more and more closed small business locations in the Daytona Beach Area, yet there are small strip shopping areas being build with others build more that two years ago un-rented or less that half rented. Who is putting up all the money with out a good return? You have to pay the taxes on the building and keep them up; it’s not free to own an empty building.

The stores in my city have so many bargains - I just don't feel the need to spend as much money as I used to a year ago. Society as a whole is not as materialistic as it used to be. I for one have stopped running out and spending money as soon as I earn it. My 11 year old son doesn't beg for things like he used to. Credit is never again going to be the economic driving force it once was - people are learning the truth...

We all hope the economy recovers, but if it does, it will be no thanks to those in government who are doing all the wrong things in order to facilitate such a recovery!

Interesting how AP can put a negative spin on promising news. It must be owned by Rupert Murdoch.

I was expecting some increase in revenue from last year since last year's sales were down at record depths. But the increased revenues at Saks and Nordstroms surprised me since those are luxury stores. Maybe someone can tell me why they are up. I'm still retrenched on my spending and investing all my money but I hope whoever is spending, keeps spending. It helps the economy, stock market... oh yeah the politicians up for election next year!

Well, here's hoping it all means good things ahead. The company I work for just signed a huge contract with one of our customers- a Semiconductor Manufacturer. Their Manufacturing is kicking into high gear like I haven't seen in years- I'm wondering what they know that we don't....

Either way- I'm seeing life on the Manufacturing floor in America.....

What's left of it, that is.

STOP EXPORTING MANUFACTURING JOBS NOW!
